As believers, we are called to be actively living life with passion and purpose. This may look different for each of us just as each one of His children are unique. Yet, we all are participants in the race called Life. We are all called to Run!
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 1 Co 9:24, ESV.
prepare to run the race!
We are all called to run the race. Not only that, we are encouraged to run the race in such a manner as to win. What does that look like? Does winning mean financial prosperity? Might be a consequence of wise choices, but not necessarily the reward of running to win. Does it include an earthly reward of any kind? Ultimately, no. What it does mean is, “living a life for the glory of Christ.” Running our race is the equivalent of living an abundant life-living life with the end in sight!
living with an eternal view
Hebrews 12:1-2 states,
“Therefore, since* we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, putting aside every weight and ⌊the sin that so easily ensnares us⌋, let us run with patient endurance the race that has been set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the originator and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (LEB).
Our life is on display publicly. We do have a ‘great cloud of witnesses’ cheering us on. Dear ones, we are not living in this time of the corona virus by mistake. Our calling is to live with passionate faith that stirs us on to the end. And the finish line will be worth all the strife and pain. Like the Apostle Paul reminds us, to live is Christ, to die is gain (Ph. 1:21). My jewels, we are to run the race of life in excellence. We do that be submitting to Jesus. Grab your Bible and get going! So, beloved, keep on keeping on!
I also want to encourage you! Our whole purpose to run our races with excellence is an act of worship to the One Who Won It All!
