I LOVE to read!
This book nerd especially enjoys commentaries and researching information of all kinds, preferably for Biblical understanding. I am of the belief that if I don’t use it, I lose it. That goes for most things in life, such as my health, well-being and especially my intellect. You might guess, I crave learning. I mean CRAVE it. My goals are to learn a nugget of truth each day. It is my quest to read is an ongoing journey of enjoyment and understanding.
So, what’s on my list?
As one should be expected, My Bible. With the Word Girl’s Challenge, I am reading through the Bible in two years. Taking time to read, study and understand the Bible as His story, is well worth my time and I will never walk away from time in His Word without changing for the better. I am currently reading the ESV and CSB. When I study, it is a good practice to read from several different translations. I also love to use commentaries such as the Word Biblical Commentary Series, NIV Application Commentary Series, Matthew Henry Commentaries, just to mention a few. Husbands are encouraged to give jewelry for Birthdays, I just ask mine to grow the subscription of my Bible Software to further word studies. Sitting at the feet of RABBI JESUS
This is a fascinating book which speaks of what it was to be a the feet of a rabbi. To learn as the disciples were taught. It opens to the reader the Jewish world that can help us understand the teachings of Jesus and grow our faith. I love history and I love His Word.
Spiritual mothering
This book is based on Titus 2, which encourages older women to mentor younger women in the love and, ” And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment, so that you can approve the things that are superior and can be pure and blameless in the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.”(Php. 1:9-11)
Now that I am growing older, I am appreciating, even more, those who came before me and took me under their wings. Strong and Godly women taught me the ways of Christ and it is such an honor! Now it’s my turn to give back and I want to encourage all those who have been given much, to share all He has taught to those who will be standing on our shoulders to reach the next generation for Christ!
And I’m finishing up our Book Club’s book, Undone Heart by Allyson Carter 🙂
