When Life Gets Tough, #pray!
. Life can be messy. Some days are just crazy and I wonder why I woke up in the morning. Family relations, finances, school and children, work and every day struggles can be overwhelming. It’s time to, #pray
Have you been watching the news? Shootings, terror attacks, meaningless episodes of hatred, bigotry and lines being drawn between groups of people. This is such a disgrace and should not be! It is heartbreaking and it is hard for me to fathom.
It can be so crazy, I have to fight the desire to run back into the safety of my ‘cave’ and hide. Hiding is never a good idea. With all the bad news in the news, one can feel helpless, but He has not left us without any way of fighting against the trouble.
Prayer is a weapon
Prayer is an offensive weapon. Praying His Word becomes explosive. There is nothing more dangerous than a woman praying on her knees. When we pray, we are growing in resolve, being refueled in His presence and building up our spirit to take on the mission He calls us too. He refills our cups to overflow so we in turn, can over flow with love and grace to those in we come into contact with.
I am not being flip and believe that all the horrific events in the world will end the minute we pray but I do believe it works. It works to..
- focus our hearts on what He wants us pray
- focus our minds on what to believe
- focus our hearts and souls to move into action. We must be willing to pray and act. We must be His hands and feet. We must push forward and act in love to everyone that we come into contact.
His Word says…
We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?
Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
1 John 3:16-18
Black, White, Yellow, Orange, Young and Old, All Lives Matter. And if we are first, lowering ourselves to our needs, digging our hearts and minds into His Word with prayer, Seeking His face first, when we rise to our feet, we will be making a difference, it will matter.
Strong women will humble ourselves before the Lord so He can raise us up in strength.
When life gets tough, #pray.
